Employment Outlook 2010 - Job creation must be a top priority in months ahead, says OECD's Gurria
07-Jul-2010 OECD countries need to create 17 million jobs to get employment levels back to where they were before the crisis, according to the  OECD's Employment Outlook 2010. Unemployment has risen more sharply in the United States than in most other OECD countries. The US unemployment rate doubled from around 5% at the end of 2007 to just over 10% in late 2009 and then gradually eased to 9.5% in June 2010.

The world economic crisis brought a period of high growth in Africa to a sudden end.
