Internships with the OECD Washington Center
The OECD Washington Center is looking for two undergraduate interns:
- students with an interest in public relations, media campaigns, and event planning. This public affairs position will primarily be involved in our Breakfast Series events, including determining appropriate invitees, overseeing logistical details, and facilitating the events themselves.
- students with a background in marketing and sales. This position entails composing marketing materials, promoting OECD products to advertisers and end-users, and maintaining branding consistency.
Students should be comfortable with the basics of international affairs or economic policy, familiar with MS Excel™, and interested in the workings of a trans-national organization. Both positions require exceptional writing ability and excellent communication skills. The student is expected to work at least 2 full days a week, although flexible scheduling is sometimes possible. Other tasks include responding to outside research requests, ad hoc administrative tasks, and database management.
Students with a background in economics, international affairs, English, European studies, marketing, sales, communications, or related discipline are welcome to apply. Students must be a national of an OECD member country. French language skills are a plus, but not a requirement. Please submit a brief writing sample (1-2 pages), a cover letter that details your interest in the OECD (and your citizenship), and a resume (including GPA) via email. Applications must be complete in order to be considered. No phone calls please! Only finalists will be contacted for a phone interview.
Although interns are expected to work at least 2 full days per week, the internship is unpaid. The OECD observes Federal Holidays. We can assist students in locating suitable housing, although no remuneration is provided. We offer internships every term, and applications are accepted on a rolling basis and the deadlines are as follows:
-
for a spring internship, December 18, 2009
-
for a summer internship, April 30, 2010
-
for a fall internship, August 6, 2010
